Thanks for visiting our website. I want to take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about our family and what makes our companies so special. In 1972, my grandfather, T.M. Chang, moved our family to America and embarked on a journey that began with the purchase of Westlake Shopping Center in Daly City, California. This single purchase laid the groundwork for the growth of the Westlake family of companies. My father, Will Chang, joined six years later and helped my grandfather build and grow the business.

Fifty years later, T.M.’s legacy is carried on by the third generation of the Chang family. As we reflect on the past and look to the future, our goal is to continue to build a family of companies that truly fosters the healthy, family-centered atmosphere that my grandfather cherished.

At Westlake Realty, we believe that having a culture that is focused both on personal as well as business health is what sets us apart and drives our success. We believe that personal health and organizational health have a symbiotic relationship.

We don’t have a lot of rules, but our culture of health for the individual and health of the company is essential to who we are and we live it in our actions every day. Our culture also promotes striving for excellence in all that we do. We have no desire to be ordinary here at Westlake Realty Group. We all work to do the best work we possibly can and to make the company excellent, as well as an excellent place to work. And we will never lose sight of the fact that excellence rarely develops in the absence of humility and kindness.

As we grow, we endeavor to seek towards continual improvement, embodied by the Japanese principal of kaisen. Our company is dynamic and ever-changing. We strive to come to work every day to be 1% better than yesterday and to push everyone else around us to do the same.
