AMO® of the Year Award

In December 2009, the San Francisco Bay Area chapter of the Institute of Real Estate Management (IREM) chose Westlake as its Accredited Management Organization of the Year. The group was particularly impressed by the technology-based processes that enable Westlake managers to spend more time with property owners and tenants as well as its significant reduction in the time required to handle paperwork.

Westlake Development Partners, LLC Awarded $24.7M Grant from California Department of Housing and Community Development

Westlake Realty Group affiliate, Westlake Development Partners, LLC together with BRIDGE Housing was honored on July 10, 2008 during a special ceremony held at the Madison & 14th Street Apartments in Oakland. On June 19, Westlake and its partners-BRIDGE Housing, the City of San Leandro, and BART-- received grants totaling $24.7 million in California Proposition 1C funds. The funds were awarded in two categories, Infill & Infrastructure and Transit-Oriented Development (TOD). Proposition 1C funds are designated to improve housing infrastructure and support housing located near transit.

Breathe California Clean Air Award

Green building/ Smart Growth Downtown Transit Oriented Development Strategy, San Leandro. For Initiating A Transit-Oriented Development Strategy

Since 1991, Breathe California has presented Clean Air Awards to businesses, organizations, and individuals who have demonstrated a commitment to improving air quality. On April 18, 2008, the City of San Leandro received an Honorable Mention for its innovative Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) strategy, which makes public transportation a top priority in the future growth of its downtown. Westlake Realty Group and BART both played major roles in the approval of a $24.7 million dollar mixed-used development project that will give San Leandro residents more places to work, live and shop. while increasing public transit ridership and reducing automobile emissions.

California Fit Business Award

In both 2007 and 2008, the California Task Force on Youth and Workplace Wellness designated Westlake a California Fit Business for the smart steps we have taken to support our employees' health.  Reader's Choice Award

Westlake-managed shopping center, Gresham Station (www.greshamstation.com). has won 12 coveted 2008 Gresham Outlook Reader's Choice Awards. This Portland-area newspaper invites its readership to vote on vendors in a variety of categories such as "Best Book Store," "Best Eyewear," "Best Place to Purchase Music," "Best Thai Food," and "Best Bartender." The results were featured in a special pull-out tab section of the paper published on January 30, 2008.

Silicon Valley Business Journal Who's Who

Robert Klag, CPA and CEO of Westlake Realty Group, was included in the 2007 and 2008 Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal "Directory of High-Ranking Silicon Valley Executives." He joins Mark Schmidt, managing director and EVP of CB Richard Ellis; Joseph Cook, managing director of Cushman & Wakefield; and William Hvidt, executive vice president and managing director of Grubb & Ellis Company, in the Real Estate/Construction category. This prestigious listing features 500 Silicon Valley business leaders in categories such as Banking/Finance, General Business/Consulting, Government/Nonprofit/Education, Healthcare, and Technology. Mr. Klag joined Westlake in 2004.

Silicon Valley Business Journal Real Estate Ranking

The Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal ranked Westlake as the ninth largest owner of commercial real estate for 2007.
