Project Based Section 8 Vouchers

Project Based Section 8 – Westlake currently manages a significant portfolio of rental properties with section 8 contracts tied to the property and referred through the local PHA (Public Housing Authority). Managing this type of multi-family property imposes a burden that necessitates a strong understanding of the program regulations and the development of an excellent working relationship with the PHA.

Housing Vouchers- Westlake has extensive experience with housing authorities' Section 8 voucher programs. We understand that not all property owners are comfortable with this program and some of our market-rate, conventional rentals have opted not to participate in the program. However, we are aware that properties with permanently funded by public agencies, LIHTC, or otherwise has federal funding, may not have the option to deny household with Section 8 Vouchers from renting at their property. Therefore, it is important for the property management staff to have a full understanding of the ramifications of the difference between the various government programs.
